Best Fast Food Places in Zambia

I love eating out. Like love love love take out and fast food cause I’m lazy and don’t want to cook all the time, believe it or not so here are a few of my favourite fast food places that I’m sure all of you love already cause they’re that good. Like I genuinely don’t think anything on this list will shock anyone but I had to show these places some love and make it anyway.

1.Hungry Lion

This taking the first spot is very much well deserved and anyone who argues wants to be different soooo bad. There’s a reason there’s a Hungry Lion almost everywhere in Lusaka and it should actually be considered the second staple food at this point. The chicken is tippity top tier, the chips are amazing and even though they barely put mayonnaise in their coleslaw, it still slaps.

2.Rocomamas

Whoever made that spicy coleslaw and decided to put it in a burger is a literal genius. All the food here slaps. The ribs are heavenly, the wings taste angelic, the chips are the right amount of salty and crunchy, the salad is top tier and all of it gets you full. Like I’ve never eaten from them and not been completely satisfied after. On top of that, their milkshakes are so smooth and go down amazingly.

3.Steers and Debonairs

I remember when Steers shut down for a bit and I’m not even exaggerating when I say this but heartbroken is an understatement. I was there almost every weekend and it was thankfully joined to a Debonairs so I could at least get pizza every time I wanted ribs from Steers too. I also love that they do deliveries together so everything comes as a package deal. They’ve been a favorite since childhood and I’m so happy they’re still around cause I really don’t know what my default would be if they weren’t.

4.KFC 

Their dunked wings, wraps and burgers as well as Krushers are what put it on this list. I could go on and on for hours about how good their wings are but we don’t have all day so I’m gonna keep it short and cute. The recipe they use for dunking whatever they dunk is top tier and I love how generous they are with it. That chicken is completely smothered in it and dripping. Like they know it tastes good and they make sure you taste it. Then the Krushers are like boujie versions of milkshakes. I love ‘em.

5.Panarottis

This one is one the pricey side and they’re allowed to be cause of that good quality pizza. My favorite flavor of pizza no matter where I am is chicken and mushroom. They ate this hands down. Their other flavours are really good too but I remember levitating the first time I had their chicken and mushroom one. It’s made by actual professionals and you can tell by the taste and quality of the ingredients. It’s all for fresh and good.

6.Nandos

There’s no way this could miss like come on. I don’t even know where to start with them. The fiesta fries are heavenly, they had these delicious spicy chicken livers that come with rolls and those are beyond amazing plus their spicy rice is actually spicy. Nothing pisses me off more than when a restaurant says something is spicy and it isn’t but they don’t disappoint when it comes to that. I love love love them and could eat there all day everyday.

7.JCS

The portions here are so big, it’s suspicious cause you don’t even have to pay that much. The first time I ordered from there, I was literally so surprised at how much food came and for so cheap. Like I was fed fed and the leftovers were enough to for two other meals. They have such a wide variety of Asian food and it tastes so good. They aren’t at all stingy and you get more than your money’s worth.

8.Nadia’s 

This is on the list because of their legendary sharwamas. I don’t think anyone can name someone who doesn’t like them. They have a way they make the flavours blend and melt in your mouth. They are also extremely consistent cause this shawarma recipe has never once changed, literally no additions or subtractions yet it’s remained a classic for years. They are affordable and filling plus you can get platters and extras if you wanna be a big back. 

9.SubZambia

I love how this place opened immediately Subway shut down cause if we’re being real it’s practically a knock-off Subway. But we all choose to ignore this cause of how good it is. And imma say this real quick, if you don’t like it, then you’re the problem. You literally make your own sandwich so if it tastes bad then that’s on you. Their ingredients are fresh and they have a really wide variety so there’s no excuse.

10.Burger Boss

Before I even talk about their burgers, lemme first glaze their fried chicken and waffles. That was the first thing I ever tried from them and my initial thought was ‘what do they put in their chicken?’ A lot of fast food places have the same kind of chicken that all tastes the same but theirs is so distinct and then they decided to combine it with the waffles drizzled in syrup. Ugh I almost fainted. This plus their mouth watering burgers just comes together so nicely.
