Incorporate fruit into your diet more
Hey friends. I feel like you’re not eating enough fruit and I’m here to help. Fruit is nature’s candy and it’s so delicious while being nutritious and healthy. So I’m gonna tell you some foods I like fruit with that you can try as well.
Cereal with banana or berries
If you have cereal often for breakfast or randomly at midnight like me, then this is for you. Try cutting up some bananas or strawberries, blueberries or even grapes into your bowl for sweetness instead of adding sugar. Plus if you’re eating sugar cereal already then some fruit will just add to the taste.
Toast with banana
If you eat bread a lot and love toast then this is definitely for you. Something I found that helps is spreading Nutella or peanut butter on the toasted bread then adding banana slices on top. It’s quite filling and really delicious.
Granola
I love granola as a snack and breakfast food and ever since I started cutting up random fruit to put in it, I’ve never had it alone. Whether I’m adding fresh mango or pear slices or berries and banana, it tastes so refreshing and delicious.
Apple in salad
Now here I don’t mean fruit salad but vegetable salad. Small apple cubes can be added to any garden salad or even coleslaw for some flavour and firmness of the apple adds to it. The crisp of the vegetables and apple together goes down really well.
Pineapple on pizza
I’m convinced pineapple on pizza haters aren’t real because I’m yet to meet one in real life. Not only are they all online, they don’t even have valid reasons as to why they don’t like it, they say nonsense like ‘fruit doesn’t belong on pizza’ as if that doesn’t apply to tomato. Anyone that’s had pineapple on pizza knows how good it is and everyone that hasn’t, is missing out.
Avocado on rice
This could be in plain white rice, brown rice, rice and stew, spicy rice (my personal fav to add avocado onto) or literally just any kind of rice. What I like about it is it makes the texture so much softer and counters the spicy-ness of the rice if it’s insanely hot. Whether it’s been mushed into the rice or is eaten as cubes on it or even slices on the side doesn’t matter, they’re all equally as good.
Blueberry muffins/pancakes
I’m not the biggest fan of blueberries on their own ngl cause they taste like apples that have gone bad or something (just my opinion) but they slap when put in muffins or pancakes which genuinely shocks me. I never thought I’d like them in anything cause I don’t like them at all but this was definitely a game changer.
Apple slices with peanut butter
This is a classic snack that almost everyone likes. It’s a childhood fav and it’s so sweet. But like the good kind of sweet and not the terribly painful one that makes your teeth hurt. I first heard of this in Mike and Molly and remember thinking ‘why have I never tried this?’ I paused the tv and immediately cut some apples up to try with peanut butter and my life definitely changed for the better.
I hope this compilation was helpful and useful. Good luck trying some of these out, hope you enjoy them.
With love, Solannah🫶🏽
